About the IIT Alumni Association New Zealand

A volunteer-led incorporated society for all IIT Alumni living in New Zealand — IITAANZ, also known as IIT AA NZ, is part of the global Pan-IIT movement.

Who we are

IIT Alumni Association New Zealand Inc. (IITAANZ) is a non-profit organisation for Alumni of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) residing in New Zealand. We were incorporated on 25 March 2026 under the New Zealand Incorporated Societies Act 2022 (registration 50258152, NZBN 9429053548788) and operate nationwide through three regional chapters: Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

IITAANZ is informally part of the global Pan-IIT network that links alumni of all 23 IIT campuses worldwide — alongside organisations such as PanIIT ANZ, PanIIT India, IIT Alumni UK, and PanIIT USA.

Our objectives

  • Represent the common interests of IIT Alumni and raise their profile in New Zealand
  • Foster professional networking, social connections, and professional development
  • Network with global Pan-IIT communities and campus alumni associations
  • Raise the profile of IITs and IITians within Aotearoa
  • Contribute to the local industry, community, and business in practical ways
  • Strengthen India–New Zealand bilateral ties in trade, research, and culture

Governance

IITAANZ is run by an elected Executive Committee representing alumni from across IIT campuses. Committee roles are subject to term limits to ensure continuity and fresh volunteer leadership. The constitution is maintained by the society and available to members on request.
